8 – 12 Years

At this stage children can explore a broader range of styles. We start to focus more on technique and offer graded and non syllabus classes in several styles, as listed below. This is an exciting age where dancers grow their versatility, knowledge and understanding. They can also begin preparing for exams, performances, or just dancing for the love of it!

Ballet

Our graded ballet classes are delivered with strong focus on technique, musicality and expression. Students develop grace, strength, improve their co-ordination and confidence. Dancers also have the opportunity to work towards recognised ballet examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).

Street

For ages 10+ we offer the chance to start street dance classes. These are super energetic and include a mix of commercial, hip hop, afro and more. Street is fast paced but choreography is broken down and taught slowly making it perfect for beginners or those already able to move and groove!

Tap dance – making music with your feet! Whether your child is brand new to tap or building on existing skills we focus on clear technique, timing and creativity with different rhythms. Dancers have the opportunity to take examinations with the Imperial Society of Teacher of Dancing (ISTD).

Acro Dance is a blend of acrobatic movements, gymnastic skills all linked together with dance movements. This is an athletic style of dance which requires strength, technique and focus. In our acro classes we spend much of the time upside down practicing our skills such as cartwheels, handstands, bridges and rolls. We follow the Acrobatic Arts syllabi and students will receive progression cards which they will need to complete to move up each level. Please note acro classes also go by ability, our teachers can help advise if we feel we have a more appropriate class available for a child’s level.

Cheer

Our cheer classes for ages 8 years and over are high-energy, team-focused, and packed with fun! Dancers learn dynamic routines that combine cheer motions, jumps, stunts, and dance choreography. Classes are designed to build strength, coordination, and team spirit in a safe and supportive environment. All levels are welcome, and students have the chance to take part in performances and compete at cheer competitions upon invitation.

Modern Theatre

Combining elements of jazz, lyrical, and contemporary styles, modern dance trains strong technique and a versatile dancer. All levels are welcome, with the option to work towards recognised examinations. This is a fun style which includes kicks, spins and jumps as well as encouraging individuality and strong performance. We follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabi and offer students the opportunity to take examinations.

Musical Theatre

Our musical theatre classes for ages 8 years and over bring together singing, acting and dance to help young performers shine on stage. Students build confidence and stagecraft while exploring scenes and songs from well-loved musicals, all whilst making new friendships and memories. Whether they dream of the spotlight or just want to try something new, all levels are welcome. There are also opportunities to take part in shows, performances and presentations.

Highland

Celebrate the strength, tradition, and precision of highland dancing. Dancers learn traditional steps and dances such as the Highland Fling and Sword Dance, building stamina, timing, and discipline with each class. Whether your child is dancing for fun or aiming for competition and exams, we support every dancer to reach their personal best. Classes follow recognised Highland syllabi with the United Kingdom Alliance (UKA).
